    The Summer's Conclusion, Including Cake!

Yesterday was my birthday and I enjoyed it very much. Very simple, a few friends came over, and I had some great ♥ cake ♥ and great presents. School starts tomorrow so having the two occasions so close was a little strange but usually August 18th is the start of school, so you do the math.

I got a cool vampire book and some accesories (no hairnets) and a few cool gift cards. More presents are coming because my grandma will be bringing by some goodies soon because she was out of town on my birthday.

I really enjoyed it and I thank my mommy and daddy for making it happen. :D

    The Secret Behind Hairnets?

In a world where lunches are served by day, mysteries roam by nightfall or worse...summer vacation...

Walking through Sam's with my mom a question popped into my head. What do lunch ladies do during the summer? I saw some ladies in hairnets giving samples at the store. Were they lunch ladies? I really did want to know the truth beneath the lunch ladies. Did they find summer lunch jobs? Do they wear hairnets at home? It's a very intriguing matter, but I have a theory that could change the world. MWAH HA HA!!!

It's the last day of school. The lunch lady looks down at her watch which reads 2:30 pm. It's time to leave. She hops into her lunch-ladyish car and drives home. From home she calls a mysterious number on her mysterious cell phone. She then opens her bedside drawer, pushes her inhaler aside and picks up a fake ID, one of around 20 various types. She slips the ID into her purse and pulls out...
    A LADLE!
She presses a red button and immediately a silent helicopter lands on her roof. She opens a drawer full of multi-colored hairnets and picks up a black one, placing it on her head. She then runs into a closet, crawls through a secret passageway, climbs up a ladder, opens a safe, pulls out a spatula shaped key, types in a series of numbers into a keypad and falls through a trap door. From there she climbs some stairs and ends up on the roof. She hops in the helicopter, flies to DC, cooks for the President (better food than she's ever served to any student body), and discusses "plans". She then goes undercover as a retired lunch lady and reports to Area 51 for further instructions. From there, no one knows what will happen. It's all kitchen confidential...

Ok, so maybe I can't prove it but it's possible!!!
But some yet to be answered questions:
    • Do you have to be a certain age to be a lunch lady?
    • If a lunch lady gets a job waiting at a restaurant, is it likely that she will wear a hairnet?
    • Do they get to choose a certain color of hair net?
    • Do lunch ladies actually get paid during the summer, or is that a myth?
    • Are lunch ladies allowed to take their kitchen utensils home?
    • Do they have to go to a special "lunch lady" class before they can work at a school?
    • Does the government hire ladies to spy on the youth of America to report statistics and behavior analysis data by going undercover as kitchen help?
    • If a man cooks for students at a school is he a male lunch lady?

These questions haunt me...But don't worry, I'll have a new obsession next week!

    It's Coming...

In the past 3 months I have had my share of laughs, my freedom (ok almost), and all I really need in a summer. I’ve spent some time at the pool, hung out with some great friends, and experienced the most awesome camp I have ever gone to and will ever go to. Throughout the summer I have had things to look forward to, none of which including school. Now that the excitement is gone and I’ve had my break I’m ready for school. Even though I have AIM and Facebook and a cell phone, I miss my friends. I miss having classes and eating bad lunch food (well only a little). I am ready to go back to school and I’m excited. School starts August 20th (yes 2 days after my birthday) and I can enjoy a new year in a new school.

But I don’t know how I can possibly stay away from Ryleigh everyday until 4:30.

    Band Camp

Well I must apologize for taking so long to update, but band camp was the COOLEST!
    Sunday:
I got all my stuff into the room and tried out for placement. I then found out that I had never received the music they were supposed to give me and I had to sight read all of it (and I stink at sight reading). So my tryout wasn’t very good.

    Monday:
Well we found out I had made it into 7th band (2nd to last) so that’s pretty good considering I didn’t know my music or which lines to play. On Monday Christine and I didn’t have to eat alone because we found our friends Philip and Tanner.
Band Camp was similar to school. Everything was scheduled and different schedules depended on your tryout. I didn’t have any classes with my friends except for one with Tanner. My schedule:
Master Class: This was a class just for an individual instrument, so I only practiced with trumpets and we didn’t practice concert music, but good techniques to use and I really enjoyed that class.
    Break
Practice: Where we learned our songs as one full band.
Sectionals: Where we reported to University classrooms and practiced in our sections (with concert music) so I was with French Horns, Trombones, Tubas, Baritones, and Euphonium.
Lunch: If you have ever attended the U of A you know how cool the Student Union is. Yes, lunch was that good.
Fran Kick: Fran Kick (yes a guys name) is a motivational speaker for young adults. So everyday he did this cooperation thing (which had nothing to do with band) to teach us how to work together and have fun and he used lots of metaphors.
Following that was more sectionals and practices.
And yet I didn’t believe I had had enough trumpet playing! It was simply not enough!
And this cycle repeated every day.

    Tuesday and Wednesday
We did the same routine and little things happened.
*Finding glowing stickers on my ceiling.
*Being late for class in the soaking rain.
    *Getting confused *cough:lost* on campus.
    *Eating delicious pizza.
*Playing on inflatables during free time.
    *Stealing Dedricks shoe.

    Thursday
We practiced really hard on Thursday and I was able to put the new breathing technique I learned in Master class a lot. You take in a huge breath and then suck in a little bit 3 times to increase your lung capacity and your tone will be fuller and breath lasts a lot longer!
At the end of the day was the dance and of course, I just went with a group not with a date. It was Christine, Tanner, Philip, Dedrick, and I. First we just talked and hung around and ate lots of ice cream. Then we played Go Fish (losers, that’s us) and then we played BS. After that we got bored and watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in another room. When that was over we made it back to the dance in time to see Dedrick trip in the conga line and the whole line fall. Then we did the Time Warp and after all the songs it ended and everybody left. We said our goodbyes and hugged each other because it was the end and there were no more classes.

    Friday
On Friday was the concert at the Walton Arts Center. Our band played and every one was dressed up and I had to say goodbye to some friends I had made there over the past week. It was really sad and none of us wanted to go home. But I didn’t go home yet, I went to Shogun and Game Exchange. Woohoo!!!

And that is my conclusion, an awesome time at band camp. I can’t wait to go back!
